Jeremy Rusu, some would say, is a 23-year-old musical prodigy. He started playing music when he was about six years old. Blind since birth, Jeremy is as good as it gets. He, himself, though, is very modest and says he does not want to become egotistical. Like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder (with whom he shares a birthday), and Jeff Healey (whom he briefly met a few years ago in Toronto), Jeremy can play music and play it well.
Jeremy studied as a jazz pianist at the University of Manitoba for three years. He has performed with many musicians around Winnipeg and busks at the Forks and Kildonan Place. His blindness is a blessing in disguise, as it has enhanced his musical talent. Jeremy is a fun-loving, charismatic and very unique person who you might find at any Sunday night jam around town, any music store in the city or at any Tim Hortons, savoring the flavor of his iced cappuccino in his spare time.
